Other than the financial cost, I am currently only taking those patients who are willing to come once a week for treatment.
Lastly, therapy for the driven costs time. It costs a willingness to come weekly for 45 individually and 60 minutes for couples to look at the things that are happening underneath and holding space for yourself to explore. It also costs the willingness to feel uncomfortable, vulnerable, and honest.
Each insurance company has different plans and benefits. The best way to find that out is to contact your insurance and inquire about out of network providers and out of network benefits. I encourage all patients to look into their insurance plans and inquire for themselves. I do provide superbills if needed as a part of the treatment to get reimbursed.
What is a superbill? A superbill is a document that will detail your expenses as they relate to your therapy sessions including costs paid, services rendered, and your diagnosis. While I require you to pay the cost of therapy upfront, I will provide you with a monthly superbill via your client portal. If you decide to utilize this superbill to be reimbursed by your insurance carrier, it is important to note that they will be permitted access to your patient records.
I do accept patients through an EAP called Lyra.
The first step is setting up the initial screen with my assistant through the calendly link. Once my assistant completes the initial screen with you over the phone, they confirm our schedules match. Then they reach out to confirm an appointment time with you and send intake paperwork for the first session together.
- If need to follow up to obtain more information, I will reach out to ask more questions
- We will typically meet at the first session.
- It will take the first 4 sessions to ensure that we are a good fit and I will check in with you in the fourth session how therapy is going for you. If we’re not a fit, I will refer you out to an appropriate fit.
- Lastly, I offer more in-depth therapy, which means once a week at minimum, and do offer analysis from a modern psychodynamic lens for those that is an appropriate fit. My schedule is Tuesday-Thursday from 8am-5pm. The schedule does vary depending on when you reach out and my current availability. At this time, all sessions are virtual due to the pandemic.

All forms are located in the client’s private portal via the Electronic Health Record System that I use called Simple Practice. Clients will be emailed a link and have 24 hours to fill out the required forms. After completing the required forms, your appointment will be confirmed. Clients’ personal login will gain them access to all forms, HIPAA waivers, and statements.
Upon creating your initial profile on the Electronic Health Record System, you will be prompted to upload a credit or debit card to keep on file. The card will be charged the day of the appointment but may not show on your account until the following day. If you would like to change your card at any time, you can do so through the client portal.
Anywhere from 6 months to a year. Possibly longer depending on what we’re working on.
It is important to remember that therapy for the driven is a gift. It’s an hour of time each week that you give yourself.
With depth therapy, we are exploring the underneath thoughts and feelings for your behaviors and experiences. It’s not linear, not stepwise. We’re always assessing where you’re at, what you’re feeling, and where you’re going. We can always have a conversation about that process together.
Therapy is of your own free will but I will make suggestions on where you’re at in the process and we can decide together in a collaborative way through conversation treatment changes.
I do have a business Instagram that you are welcome to follow, but I only follow other therapists to prevent confusion in roles.
Additionally, I do not interact online with clients because social media is not secure and could compromise the integrity and privacy of our working relationship. If you want to talk or reach out, the best way to do that is through the client portal or to reach out to my assistant, if you’re a current patient. If you’re not a current patient and you’d like to be then you need to schedule a consultation through the calendly link with my assistant.
Therapy is initially best utilized weekly until symptoms decrease and insight is gained into what’s beneath the presenting symptoms. Weekly sessions allow the therapist to gain a better understanding of the client and the client to build comfort and rapport with the therapist. As with physical health, successfully addressing mental health is greatly influenced by a consistent effort over time. Usually, in the first session, we will schedule a weekly slot that works for both of our schedules.
In Emotionally-Focused Couples Therapy (EFT), couples are able to recognize negative communication patterns and ways of relating to each other. EFT helps identify their personal relationship dynamics (and emotions) of “stuck” patterns when communicating.
In addition to pattern identification, the therapist facilitates ways to navigate difficult emotions to create stronger attachment bonds between the couple. Helping the couple in session to have a new experience of feeling heard and understood by their partner. EFT helps address attachment wounds in the safety of a healing environment which leads to a transformative experience for many couples. For couples creating a new shared history of positive bonding experiences in session results in a strengthened connection that positively impacts the relationship outside of therapy sessions.
We ask about your reason for seeking therapy, if you have seen a therapist before, and if you are on any current medications. This is to get an understanding of what brings you to therapy and to ensure I am a good fit for what you are needing to work on. My assistant also covers cost and availability. If I am not a good fit for you or my practice is full, we do everything we can to give you trusted referral options and value responding in a timely manner.
